DeMonica

This is DeMonica. She was designed later than the original GirlMonsters. I’ve always got that fear that the “Jump The Shark Element” might be hanging over her head because she was designed to be more cute than the others, but in a bratty way. She is a demon girl in every sense, but somehow she’s LilyBat’s little sister.
She was originally designed with a tail, but I didn’t like the way that looked 3-dimensionally. I gave her wings on her back instead recently, and I’m much happier with that. She ends up with more resemblance to her sister who wears wings on her head.
Of the Girl Monsters of JITTERBUTTER™, she has the most popular blog.
And here’s a link to her print if you want to buy one at deviantArt.

Betty Bones

This is Betty Bones. A favorite of the hardcore GirlMonsters fans. Those who have been around for a while know that she doesn’t actually have eyes. She’s wearing contact lenses.
Betty Bones is one of the three originals from 2001. I’ve designed a few more since, but only one has stuck around. She’s next.

LilyBat

This is LilyBat. She was second in line in the girlmonsters designs. Again, this is the updated Jitterbutter™ version as a portrait. Isn’t she lovely?
My favorite detail is the two red dots that always appear on her neck. She’s a vampire, but it’s either rare or impossible that a Vampire is born. Blade is not real, LilyBat is.

Here’s LilyBat’s blog.
And a link to buy her poster!

Abby Cadaver

Okay, this was going to get just silly. I started a blog for myself where I would post monsters that I make, and I bind myself with one rule. Time and that one rule became my excuse to not post anything. Pretty stupid. NO MORE SQUARES! It’s monsters. That's rule enough.
I’ve been way too busy to draw just for the heck of it. Trying to make something happen with my girlmonsters. Jitterbutter™ girl monsters now. Long story, but I’m extremely happy with the way things seem to be turning out.
Anyway. Too busy. Fudge. I’m drawing monsters, stupid-head! If the monster is licensing work I’m trying to promote, but it’s still monsters, what the heck am I dilly-dallying about?
Without further hesitation. Here’s my girl. The one who started it all. Updated for a new era… Abby Cadaver.

And, she’s got a blog of her own.

#2 — Quintsee

Creature 2 — I needed to do a graphic of some eyeballs for a movie review rating system for the blog of one of my characters, so I figured it made sense to design a creature around the eyes. I hope that’s not too obvious. Something I definitely want to do is experiment more with the bodies of these creatures.

#1 — Boron Boy

Creature 1 — Surprise! My first creature going into the casserole is going to break your teeth. I'm guessing this guy came from having listened to the audio book of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz recently. Then a few nights ago I listened to the soundtrack of Return to Oz. The Tin Man is always the character I wonder about. Never having read the book, I didn't know his character came about because he was constantly chopping his own limbs off. A Tinsmith replaced all his parts as he lost them. This on top of all the Iron Man hype has got me thinking metal. I give you Boron Boy.

Attack of the mixing bowl

Welcome to my Creature Casserole. Like food that stays in the fridge too long my ideas are starting to spoil because they are sitting in my head too long. Time to make a casserole.

If you've stumbled upon this blog you can expect to see a series of creatures over the course of time. My ideas are so varied, and my thoughts are so cluttered that I need to sort some out.

This blog will be a place for me to nail down some of my creature ideas. Instead of thinking, "That would be a great creature," I will actually make at least a simple version. Each creature will be formatted to fit inside a square for uniformity. But that's my only rule. I might draw it in pencil. Maybe ink. Maybe I only had time to sketch it on a piece of toilet paper. Probably most often I will finish them off in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop before posting, but if it's taking me too long between posts, I'll have to go with the T.P. sketch.

The creature might be cute, scary or sexy. It might be a 3 eyed bunny, or a cryptoid, or a monster. More likely a monster. My influences are all over the place, so hopefully when this casserole is finished (I'm thinking 100 creatures) I will have a series finished that works together as a whole. I might look at them and decide to continue. We'll see. Broooaaaaaarrrrr.
